Two of our highly skilled audiologists are based right here in the Sault, and another audiologist works out of our Manistique office. We look forward to meeting you. We’ll work one-on-one with you to diagnose your hearing loss concerns and design a comprehensive treatment plan.
We’re proud to accept all major insurances to provide a smooth and worry-free experience.
Our Story
Dr. Schneider and Dr. Skog have both been practicing audiologists for several years and decided to open up a clinic together in January 2019. It had been a lifetime goal for both Jessie and Carrie to have their own audiology clinic and give as many services as possible to the community of Sault Ste. Marie and beyond.
Sault Ste. Marie was without several audiology services before Superior Audiology came to be. No audiology clinic in the area had the capabilities to test young children and there was no clinic that accepted several insurance companies. Jessie and Carrie knew something had to be done, otherwise patients found themselves traveling ~2-3 hours to the nearest clinic that would accept their insurance or test children.
Jessie and Carrie are very passionate about working with children, making sure infants are tested for hearing loss by one month, diagnosing hearing loss in infants by three months, and treating infants with hearing loss by 6 months. With our clinic located right in town, parents are able to spend fewer hours traveling and more time with their families. It was the community that drove Carrie and Jessie to open Superior Audiology.
Fast forward to 2024, and Dr. Schneider and Dr. Skog are excited to open a second clinic at the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique, MI. Services in this office include diagnostic hearing evaluations of infants, children, and adults; newborn hearing rescreens; sales of hearing aids from all major manufacturers, including Phonak, Starkey, Resound, Signia, and Oticon; hearing aid adjustments/programming, and in-house hearing aid repairs.
